The need for food and other life necessities has taken on a new face this fall. Many of our neighbors in the eastern part of the state have faced devastating loss with the floods associated with Hurricane Matthew. Now is your chance to help.
From October 20th through November 23rd Yesterday and Today Frame Shop and other participating businesses located in the Shops at Daniel Boone are partnering to collect non-perishable food items to benefit the hurricane victims. You can bring your non-perishable food items to Yesterday and Today Frame Shop in Boone Square in Hillsborough. For bringing in a donation you will receive a coupon for 10% off your framing order at Yesterday and Today Frame Shop. (Cannot be combined with any other offer or discount).
Shop Owner Sherry Gray says, “The “Frame for Food” drive is an easy way for people to make a big impact on families in their own state, while getting a discount on framing a family photo or preserving memories in a shadow box.”
The mass collection of canned food will be delivered to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Established in 1980, the Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties for over 36 years. Record-breaking flooding has occurred in North Carolina after Hurricane Matthew dumped extreme amounts of rain on eastern parts of the state. Reconstruction will be on-going.
